Q3 Academy Langley opened in September 2016 as the first new secondary education provider in Sandwell in a decade. We seek to expand our dedicated team of colleagues who contribute to a positive work culture. By 2024, we are recognized as one of the leading schools locally, regionally, and nationally. We frequently host visitors to showcase how we are transforming education in Sandwell and leading system-wide change.
Our curriculum is primarily focused on EBacc subjects, forming our core. We also offer project-based, cross-curricular programs (Horizon, Innov8, and Cloud 9) that promote academic and holistic development, reducing lesson planning burdens and allowing more time for effective teaching.
In May 2019, our first Ofsted inspection highlighted our outstanding behaviour, pastoral, and leadership systems. The lead inspector noted that Q3 Academy Langley is ‘not a normal school’ and commended our innovative approach, which has earned us recognition as ‘the Michaela of the Midlands’ by Schools Week.
Our attendance and persistent absence rates are among the best nationally, especially considering our socio-economic context (IDACI ‘Deprived’) and diverse student body. Our work has placed us in the top 100 schools in the country for disadvantage progress outcomes over the past two years.
We uphold the highest expectations for behaviour and politeness and have procedures to support these standards. We expect staff to adhere to these procedures, fostering a safe and consistent environment conducive to learning. In July 2018, we received the prestigious Schools of Character award, reflecting our commitment to developing young people beyond academics. We hold numerous external accreditations for our inclusive environment.
