Overview
Instrumentation and Control Engineering Instructor role at Westinghouse Electric Company. You will report to the Training Manager and be located at Springfields Fuel Site. This is an onsite position dedicated to delivering practical and theoretical training to Instrumentation and Control apprentices from various backgrounds and local employers.
Responsibilities
* Deliver, plan, design, develop and engage learning programmes, schemes of work, lesson plans and materials to deliver high quality structured learning sessions that meet learner and customer needs and programme specifications (support and training will be given).
* Contribute to internal verification, assessment and standardisation of work processes and to the development and delivery in pursuit of continuous improvement.
* Supervise apprentices including supporting safeguarding and wellbeing.
* Maintain learner tracking records relating to learner progress and achievement in line with company, funding, awarding body and customer requirements.
* Manage the delivery environment and learning process to ensure safety behaviours and housekeeping, working with site supervisors and employers to contribute to learner behaviour management.
* Ensure all teaching resources are safe for use and manage stock to maintain required consumable levels.
* Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures (safety, quality, risk, security) applicable to the role.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Instrumentation and Control Engineering / Electrical Engineering
* Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or equivalent
* Level 3 teaching qualification and assessor qualification desirable (candidate must be willing to work towards)
* HNC in relevant discipline desirable
* Instrumentation and control skills with experience
* Willingness to continue professional development
* Knowledge of learning and development processes including instructional skills, presentation skills, needs assessments and an understanding of learning theory, curriculum planning – training will be given
* Previous experience in training and development desired
* Strong presentation skills via a variety of methods
