BBC Studios is looking for a North west based Studio Producer for BBC One’s flagship consumer series Rip Off Britain, January-April 2026.
Rip Off Britain’s home is a studio-style HQ based in the heart of Mediacity in Salford. This is a key editorial role to ensure all content gathered at this location is of the highest editorial standards.
The successful candidate will
* Lead the editorial team responsible for all studio filming blocks.
* Create and develop HQ/studio-style items that are engaging and informative, including investigations and light-hearted treatment, alongside building on content in the accompanying VTs.
* Pitch studio items to the Series Editor and SP.
* Write strong, accurate, entertaining HQ/studio-style scripts whilst paying close attention to compliance/legal considerations, fairness, rights of reply and the series’ editorial aims.
* Cast and book the best guests for each item
* Be highly confident at briefing presenters, experts and guests on HQ/studio days, often involving complex and detailed stories, and under strict time constraints.
* Write and manage Right of Reply correspondence and subsequent compliance and fact checking as part of this process.
They must have a strong understanding of the compliance and legal considerations involved in making consumer content and experience of making consumer content at AP level or above is essential, along with an understanding of the editorial rigour required for consumer investigations.
