Business Administrator

Permanent, Part Time

£25,081 to £28,099 Per Annum

Location: Basildon

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

The Role

This role involves working in a short break Residential team, supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities at Longwood. The administrator plays a crucial role, liaising with families, carers, and other professionals, coordinating bookings, transportation, and managing the front office and reception.

The Business Administrator at Longwood ensures all administrative tasks related to the home are completed by monthly deadlines, including ordering goods, preparing budget reports, occupancy bed returns, and updating training records.

The ideal candidate should have an understanding of working with adults with learning disabilities and be able to interact respectfully, dignifiedly, and friendly with service users.


The Opportunity

ECC Adult Social Care is shifting towards a model based on prevention, early intervention, enablement, and safeguarding, aiming to support independence and healthily living for individuals and their families. The Business Administrator will provide clerical, administrative, and financial support to residential services, ensuring effective financial management and health and safety monitoring, while maximizing data collection systems.


Accountabilities

1. Provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the residential home, adhering to deadlines.
2. Generate statistical reports on staff and service user data for management and financial purposes.
3. Ensure financial procedures, including Amenity Accounts, are followed for handling and banking all monies.
4. Maintain accurate updates on relevant systems and ensure new staff are familiar with office processes.
5. Handle public, service users, and carers' inquiries appropriately, resolving complaints per policies.
6. Manage reception duties efficiently, prioritizing calls and visitor services to create a positive first impression.
7. Collaborate with team members, sharing health and safety knowledge, and addressing service user issues promptly.


The Experience You Will Bring

1. Educated to RQF Level 3 (A level) or equivalent through experience, with a willingness to achieve the qualification within 24 months.
2. Evidence of self-development in relevant professional areas.
3. Experience in business support, data translation, and external inquiries within social care.
4. Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse individuals, including challenging family situations.
