Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be the consultant psychiatrist for the Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit (ADRU). You will work alongside the existing established team, reducing symptoms of anxiety disorder and improving functioning and quality of life in patients with anxiety disorders. The post holder also has one session a week with the Centre for Anxiety and Trauma (CADAT). This is an outpatient service offering CBT locally and nationally for specific anxiety disorders and depersonalisation disorder. The consultant input to this team consists of giving advice to the team, attending a complex case meeting, monthly interagency meeting and supervising the ST doctor.
Service Collaboration
Whilst this is a split post between ADRU and CADAT, the two services are very much aligned in terms of the model and delivery of care, and have close working relationships.
CADAT takes both local and national referrals. ADRU takes referrals nationally and internationally. Active communication with patients, families, referrers and funders is key to inform excellence in care. The service also provides support to clinicians within the Trust who wish to discuss complex patients.
