Job Description:
Working in a solutions and laboratory optimisation capacity in diagnostic pathology, you’ll be used to handling complex conundrums. Here at SYNLAB, you’ll take that expertise to the next level as you lead configuration, transformation and design projects across the existing and emerging diagnostic space, across our estate.
If you’re at your best when grappling with challenges, finding the right solutions to complex design briefs and know how to best apply emerging technologies, you’ll want to find out more about this position.
You’ll work with experts renowned globally in their respective disciplines to enhance laboratory services. You’re focus will be leveraging emerging technologies, new methodologies, precision equipment, expertise and processes to deliver a quality diagnostic service to better the lives of our partners’ and customer’s patients.

Being HCPC registered, you’ll have grown your career through the laboratories, having developed an acute sense of what works and where improvements can be made. You’ll understand well what fundamental great practice can be brought forward, and what can be revised, by adapting to new technologies to meet commercial and clinical goals.
You’ll be an architect, designing and reconfiguring laboratory space to get the best out of it, using established service design and improvement methodologies. You’ll build on modernisation work, taking a holistic approach, with the resources at hand.
People, technical equipment, platforms, workflow – will all fall under your purview to meet the needs of our customers and service users. Those that exist and those we bring on board through our expanding business.

Qualifications:
* Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
* Current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Significant senior operational management experience within an acute complex pathology service environment.
* Demonstrable experience in laboratory engineering methodologies, including value stream mapping, process mapping, and workplace organisation (5S).
* Proven track record of writing and delivering complex reports and policies to a high standard.
* Experience of effectively working with senior management within a matrix organisational structure.
* Proven ability to consistently achieve challenging delivery targets.
* Willingness and ability to travel between company sites.
* Confident and effective meeting leadership skills.
* Research and audit skills.
* Coaching and mentoring skills.
* Experience in developing and delivering training programmes.
* Experience of working on an organisation-wide basis, influencing strategy and implementation.
* Experience in planning and developing strategic plans and business cases.
