Once you’ve successfully completed your apprenticeship and achieved your Level 3 qualification, you’ll be ready to step up into a fully qualified Cable Jointer role within our operational teams. As a qualified Cable Jointer, you’ll: Work independently on low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) networks. Carry out essential maintenance, repair faults, and help restore power safely and efficiently. Play a key role in supporting our transition to a smarter, greener energy system across the North West. From there, your career can develop in a number of exciting directions. Many of our former apprentices have gone on to become: Senior or Lead Cable Jointers, responsible for supervising teams and authorising network operations. Field Supervisors or Team Leaders, overseeing crews and coordinating work on live networks. Technical Specialists in areas such as fault location, HV live working, or network commissioning. Training Instructors at our ENWL Academy, helping the next generation of apprentices. Operational Engineers or Project Managers after gaining further technical or managerial qualifications. We’ll continue to invest in your professional development even after your apprenticeship ends. You’ll have access to ongoing technical training, safety authorisations, and leadership programmes to help you move up through the organisation. With the UK electricity network expanding to meet new energy demands and net zero goals, skilled jointers are in high demand nationwide.
