I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known business who are looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
You'll be leading a small team and taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of payrolls for around 11,000 colleagues. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who wants to step into a leadership role within a busy, high-volume environment.

Description
Managing the monthly payroll process end-to-end - accurate, reconciled, and always on time
Overseeing starters, leavers, timesheets, absences, and employee record updates
Handling statutory and non-statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions, SAYE, Salary Finance, benefits)
Acting as the go-to person for payroll queries and escalations
Supporting and coaching your team, while working with HR/Finance to improve processes
Ensuring compliance with HMRC, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory reporting requirements
Profile
CIPP qualified (or working towards) or equivalent payroll experience
Background in managing or supervising payroll teams
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, salary sacrifice, benefits in kind)
Experience with large, complex payrolls
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with integrated HR/Payroll/Finance systems
Confident communicator with a collaborative, problem-solving approach
Job Offer
Salary starting from £30,000
