Role summary You will work closely with Global Practice Group Leaders and the Strategic HR projects team, focusing on the development and implementation of a progressive people strategy globally for Dispute Resolution (DR), Antitrust, Competition & Trade (ACT) and People & Reward (P&R). It is a highly collaborative role, working with both leadership and People team colleagues to develop and deliver on significant people priorities for the firm. Key responsibilities and deliverables Play an active and highly participative role as a member of the Global Practice Group management team, contributing effectively at the highest level. Provide strategic HR support and advice to the Global Practice Group Leader, Local Practice Group Leaders and partners. Collaborate with the Practice Group HR Business Partners across the Firm’s offices, resulting in regular engagement with HRBPs across the Practice Group and take the necessary action to ensure knowledge sharing. Drive people and organizational initiatives that contribute actively to a ‘one firm’ approach across Freshfields, continually reinforcing our culture and our values. Support the firm’s approach to Diversity & Inclusion, ensuring it is reflected in all talent and performance management activity Facilitate effective workforce planning and decision-making based on reliable core people data. Make recommendations for changes to reflect future business plans and the need to attract, retain and develop top local and international talent, including strategic oversight of Practice Group-led mobility opportunities. Support the internal promotions process for Partnership and Counsel. Facilitate the delivery of an effective performance management approach that drives excellent performance. Key requirements Experienced HR Business Partner or Talent Management professional who has gained significant exposure to “best practice” methodologies, preferably in a law firm, professional services firm, or big four firm Experience working in a global or international role, supporting teams, managing projects and driving implementation across multiple locations Relevant transformation experience in managing organisational/people change; comfortable with risk, and capable of operating with confidence in an evolving environment. Comfortable with risk and operates with confidence in an evolving environment; motivated by seeking out new ideas and pushing boundaries Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of effectiveness as a project and people leader. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
