We are looking for a resilient, patient, and confident functional skills cover supervisor for one of our secondary low level SEMH schools. This is an exciting opportunity to have a positive impact on young people and play a significant role in helping students receive qualifications. You will be supporting children who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning.
Maintain a calm and productive classroom environment.
Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
Support students with SEMH needs, promoting positive engagement.
Adapt to changing situations and student needs throughout the day.
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams.
Candidate Requirements:
Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) – registered on the update service or willing to apply.
References covering the last 2 years.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training
Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
Experience working with young people, ideally in an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
Strong behaviour management and people skills
Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
