Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CDU Technician based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.

What you will do:

We require an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join our team who are responsible for the decontamination of reusable medical devices across Ayrshire. The core activity of a decontamination unit is the decontamination, assembly, packaging and sterilisation of reusable medical devices. You will undertake all tasks appropriate to the grade of CDU Technician throughout all areas of the Department. It is essential that you complete training in all aspects of the post together with the policies and procedures of the Department and be committed to complete certificated training.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Previous experience is not required although a good all round standard of education is essential. Good communication and inter-personal skills together with an eye for detail and a strong team player are essential to the role. You should have a high level of physical mobility and stamina due to the nature of the role. The Department operates a competency based training programme which takes approximately 12 - 18 months to complete. Failure to achieve the highest levels of competency within the given timescales may result in termination of the contract. On completion of the training programme, progression will be made to Band 3.

Hours:

37 hours per week

Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm
Wednesday 8.00am – 3.30pm
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12.00pm – 8.00pm
Wednesday 12.30pm – 8.00pm

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A car licence/car ownership is desirable to this role.
