SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor needed in East London
We’re seeking a confident, compassionate SEN TA / Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic SEN school in East London. You’ll work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage, progress, and thrive in the classroom.
Key responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs
Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment
Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence in pupils
Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Ideal candidate:
Experienced working with children with SEN or behavioural challenges
Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches
Pay and benefits:
£100–£110 per day for flexible daily work
Higher rates for ongoing roles, aligned with the school’s pay scale

Requirements:
Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate
