Job Overview
Location: THE PIG in the Cotswolds, Barnsley, GL7 5EE. Salary: £35,500 per annum (OTE £41,725 per annum, including tronc). Hours: 45 hours per week over 5 days, including any paid overtime.
Our Sommeliers are free from the traditional image of wine service.
As part of our food and beverage team our Sommeliers play an important role within our restaurant and bar service. We offer an extensive wine list to our guests, from wines across the world, local British produce to our very own PIG offering! We love wine so much, our latest addition to our group, THE PIG in the South Down has its very own vineyard!
Responsibilities
As Head Sommelier you will be proactive, motivated, and bring strong product knowledge to pass onto other team members. You must have completed a recognised study in wine and spirits. In return, we will provide any further qualifications that might be required for your personal development.
You will be responsible for the growth of our wine team, ensuring that they provide our guests with a quality experience. You will bring your knowledge and creative flair to the task at hand, develop our wine list and take responsibility of the cellar. You should reflect our attitude and ethos in all that you do, working collaboratively with the management team to provide our guests a service to remember.
Experience in a similar role is essential, plus WSET or equivalent qualifications.
