The role
As a Mechanical Production Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll lead and motivate a team of skilled operatives to safely deliver defined packages of work to exacting quality, time and cost standards. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of production activities, drive efficiency improvements and play a key role in delivering major engineering projects that make a real difference.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Leading and motivating a team to safely deliver production work to agreed targets and standards
2. Managing workloads to meet contract requirements across cost, quality and delivery timescales
3. Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and maintaining a safe working environment
4. Setting and monitoring daily production targets to drive performance and accountability
5. Taking ownership of operational activity levels and continuously improving efficiency
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Production Supervisor
6. Demonstrating experience supervising teams in a mechanical or production environment
7. Managing resources effectively to deliver work within time, cost and quality constraints
8. Applying strong knowledge of safe working practices within an engineering setting
9. Driving performance through setting targets and monitoring output
10. Taking responsibility for production areas and maintaining high operational standards
Qualifications for the Mechanical Production Supervisor
11. Time-served with extensive, recent and relevant experience in a mechanical discipline
12. ONC or HNC (or equivalent) in a related engineering subject – preferred but not essential
