This site needs someone who enjoys being the friendly, steady HR presence people naturally gravitate towards. Someone who’ll help keep things running smoothly while also nudging us forward.
The Role
You’ll be supporting around 148 employees on site, working closely with the HR Manager and taking ownership of the day‑to‑day HR essentials — from payroll prep to ER queries to keeping records in order. It’s a varied role where you’ll be visible, trusted, and genuinely helpful. If you’re CIPD Level 3 and ready to work towards Level 5, we’ll support you all the way.
Key Responsibilities
* Run weekly Time & Attendance checks and prepare monthly payroll submissions for the central payroll team
* Support the HR Manager with day‑to‑day site work and HR projects
* Provide first‑line advice on absence, conduct, and general ER queries
* Manage HR admin — letters, documents, inductions, records — not just tick‑boxes
* Support new starters, probation reviews and the annual pay review
* Lead engagement activities that actually mean something to people
* Be a visible, approachable presence on the shop floor (not just an office chair)
About You
* CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) and keen to work towards Level 5
* Strong attention to detail, especially when anything payroll‑related crosses your desk
* Friendly, calm, and able to build trust quickly
* Comfortable juggling deadlines and unexpected questions
* Hands‑on, people‑first, and happy being out where the work happens
* Curious, willing to learn, and not afraid of taking on something new
Nice to Have
* Experience in manufacturing or a similar fast‑paced environment
* Previous exposure to payroll data or HRIS systems
