JOB TITLE Utilities Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and tenacious Utilities Manager to lead the resolution of utility invoice discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of utility data across systems. This role involves working closely with utility suppliers, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and internal teams to identify, track, and resolve billing issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring invoice integrity and maintaining the health of our Systemslink data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Issue Resolution & Supplier Liaison:
2. Investigate and resolve issues identified during invoice validation.
3. Liaise directly with suppliers and DNOs to challenge discrepancies and drive them to resolution.
4. Ensure consistent follow-through on issues from initiation to closure.
5. Supplier Relationship Management:
6. Retain relationships with dedicated supplier account managers, especially during transitions between suppliers, to avoid reliance on generic call centres.
7. Escalate issues appropriately to maintain service quality and continuity.
8. Internal Communication & Reporting:
9. Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders including Finance and Systemslink users.
10. Collaborate closely with colleagues such as the other Utilities Managerto ensure alignment and data integrity.
11. Invoice & Data Integrity:
12. Ensure issues are fully resolved before invoice approval.
13. Maintain accurate, clean, and reliable data in Systemslink to support ongoing validation and reporting.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
14. Exceptional attention to detail – able to spot and investigate anomalies in data.
15. A strong completer-finisher who sees tasks through to final resolution.
16. Tenacious, self-starting character – able to work independently and persist through challenges.
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel – comfortable working with large datasets, formulas, and analysis tools.
18. Willingness and ability to learn systems and processes quickly.
19. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
20. Strong organisational skills with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
Desirable:
21. Experience dealing with utility billing, suppliers, or energy systems.
22. Working knowledge of Systemslink or similar energy/invoice management platforms.
23. Familiarity with finance processes or invoice approval workflows.
