Your Role
As a core Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Newport team, you will:
- Mechanical Repair & Maintenance: Carry out general car servicing, routine maintenance, and major mechanical repairs.
- Advanced Engine Work: Perform complex technical procedures, including timing chain replacements and wet belt systems.
- Diagnostics & Fault-Finding: Use modern electronic diagnostic equipment to efficiently track down, investigate, and rectify tricky faults.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough bumper‑to‑bumper vehicle safety checks, health inspections and fluid replacements.
- Technical Quality: Maintain "right first time" standards to keep our customer satisfaction scores high and the workshop running safely.
What You Need
- Qualifications: Qualified automotive mechanic (Level 3 or equivalent proven hands‑on workshop experience is preferred).
- Technical Skill: Solid experience in a busy garage environment with a strong knowledge of modern engine systems, vehicle components, and diagnostic procedures.
- Key Strengths: High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving skills, and the confidence to work independently or support a collaborative team.
- Licensing: A full, valid UK driving licence.
