Our client, an established and high-profile organisation based in Coventry operating in the water industry, is seeking amercial Manager to join their team. This multi-accreditedpany specialises in the delivery of clean and waste infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the Midlands region. This is a full-time permanent position (37 hours per week, Monday – Friday) based in their Coventry office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
Asmercial Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing cost reporting for allocated projects, including cost forecasting and anticipated final cost
2. Monitoring and reporting on allmercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues.
3. Managing the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications
4. Producing payment applications/invoices and managingmercial risk and claims
5. Providing advice on change management and producing documentation for approval
6. Ensuring proper retention and archiving ofmercial records and undertaking final account settlements
7. Collaborating with stakeholders on managing contracts and supplier relationships to maximisemercial and contractual benefits.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
8. Proven experience inmercial management within the civil engineering industry, ideally within the water sector
9. Experience managing NEC contracts (ideally NEC4) and a strong understanding ofmercial practices and risk management
10. Sound financial and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
11. Excellent negotiation andmunication skills
12. Full UK driving licence.
