Location: Appleton, WI | Pay Rate: $32.19/hour | Schedule: Full-Time, 2nd Shift (3 PM - 1:30 AM)

Are you an experienced structural mechanic with a passion for precision? If so, we want you to join our highly skilled aerospace team at PDS Tech Commercial! In this role, you’ll work independently to perform complex structural assembly tasks, ensuring our aircraft meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
As a Structural Mechanic IV, you’ll play a vital role in the assembly and maintenance of critical aircraft components, helping us deliver exceptional results for our customers. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor and train team members while continuously refining your skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
* Independent Assembly Operations: Perform structural assembly, fitting, and drilling/riveting operations to meet design specifications and customer expectations.
* Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to lay out, fabricate, and install parts on aircraft.
* Tools & Equipment: Utilize specialized tools such as portable riveting guns and pneumatic drills to complete tasks with high precision.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough checks to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection, adhering to internal and FAA compliance standards.
* Mentor & Train: Share your expertise by mentoring less-experienced team members, assisting with problem-solving, and ensuring work is completed to specifications.
* Problem Solving: Develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation difficulties and improve processes.
* Documentation: Maintain logs, records, and paperwork to ensure proper documentation and compliance with quality specifications.
* Safety & Organization: Support company safety initiatives, maintain a clean work area, and comply with all safety regulations and 5S/Lean programs.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
* Experience: 6 years of related structural assembly experience in the aerospace industry.
* Education: High School Diploma or GED.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in using special tools and equipment, interpreting blueprints, and solving dimensional problems.
* Attention to Detail: Skilled in close tolerance work, with a strong ability to use various measuring devices.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or stands as needed.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred:
* Software Knowledge: Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam.
* Certifications: Q-stamp preferred.
* Team Leadership: Prior experience mentoring and leading teams in a technical environment.
