We’re looking for an organised, analytical, and proactive Production Planner to join our team in Penryn. In this role, you’ll develop and manage production schedules, coordinate closely with multiple departments, and ensure we meet customer demand efficiently and on time. About the Role
As a Production Planner, you’ll be responsible for turning forecasts and sales demand into clear, achievable production plans. You’ll work closely with Production, Operations, Procurement, and the Global Planning team to ensure materials, resources, and schedules are aligned to meet business goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Developing production schedules and manufacturing plans based on demand, capacity, and inventory targets
2. Scheduling material production to meet inventory requirements
3. Reviewing MRP and generating or releasing work orders
4. Identifying and acting on exceptions to demand or production plans
5. Coordinating with Buyers to support raw material and component scheduling
6. Maintaining strong communication with Production and Operations teams
7. Keeping accurate records and documentation for audit and historical purposes
8. Preparing and publishing weekly, monthly, and quarterly production schedules
9. Updating procedures to support business system requirements
10. Working with the Global Planning team to review and adjust safety stock levels
11. Ensuring adequate inventory coverage across all distribution centres
12. Participating in the site S&OP process
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Education
13. 3–5 years demonstratable knowledge in materials, logistics, or production planning
14. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field
Skills & Abilities
15. Strong written and verbal communication skills
16. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve issues under pressure
17. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
18. Proficiency in MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
19. APICS certification is a plus
This position is working 5 days a week, Monday to Friday with one work from home day on a Friday
6 month contract
The permanent salary equivalent is circa £35k per annum, this will be paid hourly
