Job Summary
The Summer Internship at Trimont provides a robust learning environment where interns work alongside multiple teams to develop a broad understanding of financial and management principles in finance and commercial real estate. The program introduces interns to Trimont’s operations, industry fundamentals, and the structure of servicing agreements. Interns will gain insight into the full loan life cycle, key loan documents, and the capital stack. The curriculum also covers intercreditor relationships, co-lender agreements, syndications, participations, and the roles of line lenders. Following successful completion, participants may be considered for progression into Trimont’s Rotational Analyst Program upon graduation, providing a pathway for continued professional development within Trimont.
Responsibilities
* Acquire a foundational understanding of Trimont’s business model, organizational structure, and the broader commercial real estate finance industry.
* Review and interpret servicing agreements to understand the roles, obligations, and performance standards required of a servicer.
* Examine core loan documents (e.g., loan agreements, promissory notes, security instruments) to identify critical terms and covenants.
* Explore the roles and responsibilities of intercreditors, co-lenders, syndication partners, participants, and line lenders.
* Assist in reviewing property management reports, lease abstracts, and valuation materials to assess asset performance.
* Prepare asset summary reports, synthesizing key financial and operational metrics for internal and client use.
* Analyze property-level financials, including rent rolls, operating statements, and third-party valuations, to identify trends and risks.
Required Qualifications
* Must be entering the final year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated capacity to achieve results in a dynamic setting.
* Organizational and administrative skills that reflect attention to detail and the ability to prioritize amidst competing demands.
* Skilled in managing sensitive information while upholding privacy.
* Handling workload and special projects efficiently.
* Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
