Principal Specialist, Value Stream – Complex Engine Systems
Engine Systems product value stream, a part of the Heat Transfer value stream within the Environmental and Airframe Controls System (EACS) part of the Power & Controls business unit, is seeking is seeking a value stream program lead for key products and accounts
The role will require close connections to the Power & Controls customer value streams led out of the US. Internally, the role will support the Complex Engine Systems product line responsible for specific product groups including; leading cost reduction initiatives, producibility challenges to achieve rate, and managing aftermarket implementation to support global fleets. The person will be regularly engaging with the customer value stream and end customer as required, as primary contact, and will be responsible for all product group metrics, as a minimum; revenue forecasting and attainment, margin growth, on time delivery, quality actions, customer satisfaction and improvement projects.
Primary responsibilities:
* Responsible for product groups within the Complex Engine System product line and overcoming barriers to achieving required build rates.
* Work with the Integrated Program Team (IPT) to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets.
* Inputs in support of Collins Management System (CMS) maturity and Gate reviews in conjunction with Customer Value Stream & Business Development.
* Working with customer value stream to ensure product groups continue to meet end customer needs, including growth of new products and opportunities.
* Ensure correct aftermarket structure is established for both spares and repairs.
* Responsible for product group compliance; contract adherence, specification compliance, supply chain flow down, quality requirements and global trade.
* Responsible for the key financial aspects of the product groups and driving margin growth.
* Reporting of performance and defined metrics to Value Stream Manager (VSM) and customers as necessary.
* Working with VSM to develop forward-looking product strategy, as well as developing technology and manufacturing roadmaps.
* Effectively communicate with multiple lines of management.
* Responsible for change management.
Metrics:
* Engineering development milestones; CPI, SPI, CFE, CAPEX
* Technology roadmap maturity / Project execution performance
* Manufacturing output (OT, Quality, Cost of Sales)
* Manufacturing variance (Quality, O/H, labour, SRR)
* CFE
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Experience of Aerospace is desirable
* Some travel may be required and flexible working hours to support different time zones
