Ellen Tinkham School and College in Exeter, part of the Learn to Live Federation, is a Special School for children and young people aged 3 - 19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. We currently have a permanent vacancy for a Site Senior to support our Premises Team in the day to day maintenance of our school sites, commencing as soon as possible.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, to totalling 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a starting annual salary of £26,824.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of health and safety and maintenance as you will be responsible for carrying out premises and grounds maintenance grass cutting, simple repairs, installation, general building maintenance (interior and exterior), compliance checks and security of the premises.
You will order and issue maintenance and cleaning materials, assist with the maintenance of the hydrotherapy pool, ensuring the water quality meets H&S guidelines, manage chemical levels, clean the pool areas, changing areas and toilets and deal with incidents of water contamination. You will work to acceptable set standards and maintain admin records and databases, so basic IT skills are essential. You will help manage the school transport arrangements at the start and end of the school day. On occasions you may be required to drive school vehicles.
We are seeking someone who is organised, able to manage their time and prioritise their workload, with good communication skills and diplomacy, enjoys practical work an experienced DIYer with the ability to work on maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, basic building work, gardening and use power tools. This role is very physical and you will be working outside throughout the year in all weather.
