An exciting opportunity has arisen at a leading housing provider for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Performance and Insight team. This role is key to shaping data-driven decisions across the organisation by turning raw data into meaningful insights that drive business improvements and performance. You will report to the Senior Data Analyst and work closely with a collaborative Insight & Improvement Team. The role involves cross-departmental collaboration and engagement with external partners and software providers.
THE ROLE As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for the full data analysis lifecycle—from requirements gathering and data modelling to the development of reusable metrics and intuitive reports. Your work will support strategic decision-making and ensure high-quality reporting is accessible to stakeholders across the organisation.
You'll play a vital role in:
Developing and maintaining databases and data assets to support multiple business initiatives.
Creating engaging, informative dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI.
Supporting the design and implementation of the organisation's business intelligence strategy.
Training colleagues to confidently interpret and utilise performance data.
Leading improvements in data quality, governance, and visualisation techniques.
Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions, reports, and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and DAX.
Identify and resolve complex data quality issues and improve data reliability across the business.
Extract and prepare datasets for both internal use and external regulatory reporting.
Collaborate across departments to translate business needs into actionable insights.
Communicate key findings and trends to stakeholders in a clear, accessible format.
Provide expert guidance and support on data-related queries and ad-hoc analysis.
Stay up to date with emerging tools, technologies, and trends in data analytics.
Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
YOU The Business Intelligence Analyst will be data-savvy professional who thrives on problem-solving and has strong communication and analytical skills. You will ideally have:
Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, and DAX (essential).
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or DataBricks.
A solid understanding of the Microsoft BI Stack and ETL processes.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R (desirable).
Experience building reusable data models and cleaning raw datasets.
The ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences and support user adoption.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes.
Awareness of regulatory frameworks within the social housing sector (desirable).
