It will be pivotal in delivering robust change control and data design practices, underpinning consistent and high quality data that represents a single source of truth across our performance and insight endeavours. This role requires an excellent communicator in all aspects, both verbally for the frequent interaction between platform and performance teams and in written form to ensure clarity of process is documented, through the ability to harness differing views into an agreed way forward with cohesion. A critical thinking individual who is capable of understanding operational service delivery and how recording of data is aligned to it and accurately represents it. Responsibilities
* Responsible for managing data quality and its continual improvement.
* Responsible for ensuring that data recorded and used is accurate, and compliant with data governance policies and procedures.
* Implement, maintain and promote the use of data governance policies to support the single view of data.
* Responsible for developing and maintaining the data dictionary and associated KPI library, which ensures that the Operational Reporting and Performance and Insights teams have a shared common source for report and insight production that is aligned with both Operational Services and contractual expectations.
* Line management of Data Governance Officer/s.
* Through collaboration with the Platform Development team, ensure data models are implemented effectively, with a view towards creating models that support self-service informatics.
* Lead initiatives to improve data quality, stewardship, literacy and compliance across the organisation.
* Manage data design standards for reference data, hierarchies, naming conventions, field definitions and data types.
* Manage the retirement of outdated reports and consolidation of duplicates where possible.
* Apply version control and change management to the data models supporting clear and consistent alignment for all reporting across the department.
* Responsible for the submission of highest quality data flows, nationally and locally with partners and commissioners.
* To deputise for the Head of Performance and Information when required.
* To ensure local and national policy, services changes and ISNs are reflected appropriately in internal data collections and national datasets.
* To ensure that procedures are correctly documented in a transparent manner.
