A fast-growing accountancy firm has recently acquired a practice in Bournemouth and is seeking an experienced and ambitious Accounts Manager to lead a team of training and qualified accountants here. This role is ideal for an ACA/ACCA-qualified individual with a client-facing background within an accountancy firm. As an Accounts Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering a range of general accountancy services and striving for excellence in customer service. The role has significant room for growth for the right individual with pathways to Partner level available.


Day-to-day responsibilities

* Support and manage a varied client portfolio, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
* Lead projects, including management and budget planning, and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns (corporate, personal and VAT).
* Act as the go-to person for client queries, proactively identifying opportunities and communicating actions clearly.
* Handle technical and challenging projects, adhering to accounting standards.
* Collaborate with senior management, supporting Partners with projects and contributing to the firm’s growth by retaining and building client relationships.
* Coach and mentor a junior team, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, including performance reviews and feedback for direct reports.


Required Skills & Qualifications

* ACA/ACCA qualified, or equivalent.
* Experience in financial reporting – FRS102 and FRS105.
* Proven leadership experience within an accountancy practice.
* Strong project management skills and excellent organisational abilities.
* Technically proficient across various accountancy disciplines.
* Problem‑solving mindset with a can‑do attitude.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and independently.
* Strong communication and advisory skills.
* Motivated, inspiring, and able to encourage team collaboration.
* Creative with excellent business acumen.
