OCU Group is currently looking for a Plant & Transport Controller to join our growing team at our Nottingham site!
As a Plant and Transport Controller, you will be responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and utilization of utilities/construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the management of the company's fleet of construction plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
2. Manage plant assets going on and off hire for the site/business, report faults, and assist the main P&T team.
3. Monitor the utilization of plant machinery and transportation vehicles to optimize efficiency and productivity.
4. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and inspection procedures for plant machinery and transportation vehicles.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
6. Monitor and control costs related to plant and transportation operations, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and insurance.
7. Prepare reports and documentation related to plant and transportation activities, including equipment usage, maintenance logs, safety incidents, and compliance records.
Skills and Experience:
1. Previous experience in plant and transport management within the utilities industry.
2. Strong technical knowledge of construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles.
3. Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
4. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
6. Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., CPCS, CPC) may be required.
7. Ability to fit and remove vehicle tracking systems (training provided).
