About the role:
Mid & West Wales Adoption Service is one of the 5 Local Authorities Regional Collaboratives that make up the National Adoption Service in Wales, along with two Voluntary Agencies, St David’s Children Society and Barnardo’s Cymru. There are many opportunities within the team for training and professional development. The posts involves generic adoption practice whilst working within a Regional Service. The caseload will include all areas of adoption practice, recruitment and assessment, family finding, adoption support, birth records and intermediary work.
About you:
Social Work Qualification
Preferable previous post qualifying experience.
Experience and Knowledge of attachment and trauma and therapeutic parenting modalities.
Experience of adoption practice in some capacity.
Assessment of children and adults
Court experience desirable.
What you will do:
They will hold a generic caseload of adoption practice and work within a Adoption team in Powys based in the North of Powys. They will also need to be able to work regionally and some family finding takes place outside of Wales. Ability to work with birth parents and to assess and support adopters.
Family finding and matching. Supporting transitions and working with foster carers and other agencies.
