Transport Planner Job Overview
* Plan and schedule daily routes for a fleet of vehicles across the UK
* Monitor and manage driver hours, breaks, and legal compliance (WTD, tachographs)
* Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service levels are met
* Manage real-time changes, disruptions, and last-minute requests
* Provide clear instructions and support to drivers
* Coordinate with the workshop for vehicle maintenance schedules
* Maintain accurate records and systems for planning and compliance purposes
Transport Planner Job Requirements
* Proven experience in a transport planning role, ideally within general haulage
* Strong knowledge of UK road networks, driver regulations, and WTD legislation
* Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Competent IT skills and familiarity with transport management systems (TMS)
* A proactive attitude with attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Transport Planner Planner Salary & Benefits
* Salary range: £35,000 - £45,000, dependent on experience
* 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
