The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth running of our hospices financial operations. You will support the Finance Manager with day-to-day tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across all financial activities.
This is an exciting opportunity. we are able to offer flexible hours but one day must be a Friday.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
* Processing invoices, payments, and receipts in line with hospice policies
* Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Maintaining accurate records and filing systems
* Liaising with suppliers, staff, and external stakeholders regarding finance queries
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes
* Assisting in the lottery department function, including ensuring that there is a continuity of service when the Lottery Co-ordinator is absent.

Effectively assist in the day-to-day accounting andfinancial management of the charity and its associated subsidiaries,particularly concentrating on Promotions and Trading subsidiaries

Maintain a culture of excellence, leading by example.

Assist in ensuring financial and lottery policiesand procedures are reviewed, amended if required and adhered to, andreported to the Finance Committee.
Ensure appropriate backup and storage of financialinformation
Assistance with preparation and submission ofmonthly Gambling Commission returns
Contribute to the strategic direction of the hospiceand its services for patients and families
Maintain compliance and contribute to relevantelements of the governance framework including risk management
MANAGEMENT
Manage all financial services, ensuring consistentlyaccurate data is maintained at all times.
Provide accurate information, statistics andoutcomes to the Board of Trustees, sub committees and other partners asrequired.
EDUCATIONAND DEVELOPMENT
Attendinduction programmes, and education training for staff, creating a culture oflearning and development.
Maintainexternal links with educational providers.

Qualifications
