*Job Summary*
We are looking for *compassionate and experienced Support Workers* to join a *2:1 care package* supporting a young adult with *Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mild Cerebral Palsy, and Epilepsy* in *Derby*. The client requires *24/7 support* due to complex physical, behavioural, and emotional needs.
You will play a key role in helping the client live safely and happily at home and in the community, while maintaining dignity, independence, and overall well-being. *And being able to drive them to and from school, when the school starts. *
*Responsibilities*
* Provide *2:1 support* at all times (client must never be left with only one staff member)
* Support with *personal care*, *washing and dressing*, *medication administration*, *hydration*, and *nutrition*
* Monitor and manage *epileptic seizures* (tonic-clonic) and behavioural episodes safely
* Support mobility needs related to *mild cerebral palsy* (left-side weakness, leg length discrepancy)
* Encourage and promote *social inclusion*, communication, and meaningful activities
* Assist with *domestic tasks* according to client’s home routine and cleaning schedule
* Follow individualised *risk assessments*, *health and safety protocols*, and infection control procedures
* Maintain accurate *daily records*, *handover notes*, and *body maps*
* Uphold *privacy*, *dignity*, and *consent* at all times
*Requirements*
* *Experience managing challenging behaviour - PMVA TRAINING MANDATORY*
* *FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE*
* At least *6 months to 1 year of experience in complex care*, learning disabilities, autism, or mental health support
* Understanding of *epilepsy care* and seizure protocols
* *Manual handling* and *medication administration* experience
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Must be able to *work 12-hour shifts* (day or night)
* Valid Enhanced DBS issued in last 3 years.
