An opportunity has arisen for Aerodynamics Test Engineer to join an Aerospace and Defence organisation in the Milton Keynes area. The successful Aerodynamics Test Engineer will join the Engineering Team and support a variety of commercial and research projects. Responsibilities include conducting testing, aerodynamics analysis, and technical reporting.
The Aerodynamics Test Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality aerodynamic data using various equipment and techniques across the company's facilities.
The Aerodynamics Test Engineer will report to the Team Leader.
Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support to the project team.
2. Assist in project delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction within time and budget constraints.
3. Handle client requests and contribute to technical bid preparations.
4. Oversee aerodynamic, mechanical, computing, and programme requirements for tests.
5. Manage workloads across test facilities and project schedules.
6. Produce technical reports to support analysis and development activities.
7. Support analysis and interpretation of aerodynamic datasets.
8. Ensure data quality and timely delivery of results and reports.
9. Assist with other experimental and numerical tasks relevant to the business.
10. Proactively develop innovative processes and capabilities.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
1. A passion for aircraft, aerospace, and complex engineering analysis.
2. Ideally hold a master's degree (MEng/MSc) or equivalent in a related discipline.
3. Experience in aerodynamics testing and working within multidisciplinary teams.
4. Demonstrable knowledge of aerodynamics from a relevant field.
5. Excellent communication and networking skills.
6. Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Confidence to question existing processes and strive for improvement.
8. Ability to see projects through to completion.
