Overview
We are looking for a passionate and qualified ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) or TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher to join our team and support learners for whom English is a second language. You will deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that helps students develop their language skills, confidence, and independence, enabling them to succeed in their learning programmes and beyond.
Salary: £28.62 - £37.08 per hour
Hours per week: 6 hours per week (day time)
Weeks per Annum: 36 weeks
Working pattern: Mon-Fri
Location: Witney Campus
Contract type: Fixed term until September 2026
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to ESOL learners.
* Create and adapt learning resources to support language development and functional skills.
* Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Support learners in developing English, Maths, and digital skills.
* Promote independent learning and inclusive practices.
* Collaborate with support staff and colleagues to ensure effective delivery.
* Provide tutorial support and guidance to help learners achieve their goals.
Essential Experience
* Recognised ESOL or TEFL qualification (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, CertTESOL).
* Experience teaching English to speakers of other languages.
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
* Ability to assess learner progress and provide meaningful feedback.
* Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in a further education or adult learning setting.
* Familiarity with college systems for course and learner management.
* Experience supporting learners with additional needs or low literacy levels.
* Knowledge of current ESOL curriculum and assessment frameworks.
* Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
