Overview
Griffon Marine is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a solid background in the marine industry to lead business growth, drive revenue, and create new opportunities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships, expanding our client base, and positioning Griffon Marine for continued success in a competitive market.
Responsibilities
* Grow Revenue: Win sufficient boat building contracts to generate revenue in line with budget targets each year; build the Griffon Marine Shipyard brand; meet all customer contracted requirements.
* Control Costs: Gather data and learning to improve performance of future projects; actively manage risks which threaten project success.
* Diversify: Help the team become a genuine Shipyard not a specialist; manufacture and deliver profitable marine vessel build projects.
* Identifying Business Opportunities: Research and identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients; analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to recommend strategies for growth.
* Lead Generation and Prospecting: Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events; develop and maintain a database of prospective clients or partners.
* Sales and Negotiation: Present the company’s services/products to potential clients and close deals; negotiate terms and contracts with new and existing clients.
* Building and Maintaining Relationships: Foster long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders; act as the point of contact for key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and opportunities; provide insights and reports on competitive landscape, market demands, and industry best practices.
* Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the marketing and product teams to align business development strategies with company goals.
* Strategic Planning and Reporting: Develop business development strategies to increase the company’s market share and revenue; monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of initiatives.
Experience/Qualifications
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or related field.
* Must have Marine sector experience.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of market research techniques and competitive analysis.
* Ability to build relationships and maintain professional networks.
* Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
