As Quarry Manager, you will lead, direct, and manage the operational team to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective running of the quarry. You will be responsible for driving performance, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and meeting production targets. This is a key leadership role requiring a strong focus on team development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily operations of the quarry to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently. Manage and develop the operational team, fostering a culture of performance, safety, and accountability. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and company policies. Oversee resource planning, budgeting, and cost control to maximise productivity and profitability. Maintain high standards of quality control, site housekeeping, and equipment maintenance. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the site. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a leadership role within the aggregates, mining, or quarrying industry. Strong understanding of quarry operations, health & safety regulations, and environmental compliance. Excellent team leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Relevant qualifications such as QCF Level 6 or SHE NVQ, or equivalent are desirable. Good working knowledge of relevant systems and reporting tools. Distribution : Working with the logistics function to ensure operational procedures are such that highest customer service levels can be achieved at the most efficient operational cost. Quality : Working with the technical function to ensure operational procedures are such that the highest quality levels are achieved at the most efficient operational cost. Business Analysis : Working with the Unit Manager to ensure all operational management information is accurate, relevant and is used effectively to assist in the management of the business and the progression of all profit enhancing opportunities.
