Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 + car/travel & package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high profile infrastructure project in Birmingham. The Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of the site based project team, managing either a large subcontract package valued up to £30m or a portfolio of smaller packages across the project. This is an opportunity to work for an award winning name within the UK's infrastructure sector whilst gaining exposure to an exciting, major project for a business that can offer excellent career progression and great earning potential.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Quantity Surveyor on a key phase of the project that includes 10km of track and multiple precast segments on a new viaduct, embankments and other structures. Your key duties will include:
Working closely with the Project Manager or Commercial Manager across the project, providing accurate commercial and contractual advice where required
Contract negotiation and procurement of subcontract accounts
Agreeing final accounts with subcontractors and supplier
Building long lasting, trusting relationships with the client and key stakeholders across the project
Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the NEC suite of contracts and have previously working in a main contracting environment. You'll need excellent communication skills and live within a reasonable commute of the site in Water Orton.
