Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

Fourblue are working with a leading ICP (Independent Connection Provider) at the forefront of the UK’s renewable energy transition. They design and deliver critical power infrastructure, grid connections, and generation projects that are helping shape a carbon-free future – and now, they’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Glasgow.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse high-voltage renewable projects, from early design through to commissioning, with the scope to develop professionally and gain further qualifications along the way. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your expertise will have a direct impact on major UK clean energy developments.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
* Managing electrical design interfaces across complex HV renewable projects, producing layouts, single-line diagrams, calculations, cable schedules, and commissioning procedures
* Working closely with suppliers and contractors, overseeing procurement, technical queries, and acceptance testing
* Supporting project engineers in delivering high-quality, compliant electrical solutions that meet industry and grid code standards
* Visiting project sites for inspections, coordination meetings, and quality monitoring, ensuring safe systems of work are followed
* Reviewing and managing simulation studies including load flow, power quality, and harmonic analysis for generation connections
* Developing your skills towards HV switching authorisation and SAP/AP status if desired
Criteria for the Electrical Engineer:
* Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in HV engineering within renewables or utilities
* Strong technical knowledge and ability to assess designs for compliance and improvement opportunities
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise at all levels
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays
