Role: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor Sector: General Civils & Energy Location: Cumbernauld (with regional travel as required) Reporting to: Commercial Manager / Regional Commercial Lead Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Role Purpose: To manage the full commercial lifecycle of civil engineering and energy projects across Scotland. This includes ownership of project budgets, cost control, reporting, subcontract procurement, and contract administration (primarily under NEC forms). The role supports delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects across frameworks and direct awards. Key Responsibilities: Commercial & Contract Management Oversee commercial delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across power and energy sectors Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) Administer contracts (NEC3 / NEC4 / Network Rail frameworks) Issue early warnings and manage change control processes Lead the final account closeout process Estimating & Reporting Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions Produce client-facing reports and commercial forecasts Maintain project cost plans and cash flow forecasts Procurement & Subcontract Management Manage subcontract procurement from tender to final account Build and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships Ensure timely application and certification of subcontract payments Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with clients, project teams, and site managers Support project reviews and commercial strategy meetings Represent the commercial team in internal and external forums Required Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering contracting Demonstrable knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 forms of contract (essential) Experience working on general civils, power, or energy infrastructure projects Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management Full UK driving licence Key Skills & Competencies: Strong commercial acumen with cost control and reporting experience Ability to manage multiple live projects concurrently Effective communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills Proactive and solution-focused mindset Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and contract interpretation What’s on Offer: Competitive salary (DOE) Company car or car allowance 25 days holiday bank holidays (with increases for service) Up to 3 paid volunteer days per year Life assurance Contributory pension scheme Westfield Health Cash Plan & Rewards platform Structured CPD and progression pathway Supportive and inclusive working environment Employee engagement forums
