An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Adult English and Maths team. This team is responsible for delivering Functional Skills Maths to adult learners aged 19+.
This role is specifically for a Monday evening class. We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our adult learners in Functional Skills Maths.
You will be expected to develop lesson plans to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons that support and engage learners from a range of different backgrounds and abilities. You will routinely monitor learner progress, support needs and set individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills.
You will have a flexible attitude to working as an evening class and some non-term time teaching will be required to fit the requirements of the department. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of paperwork is essential.
The successful candidate will have the following:
* A degree within area of specialism – Maths or similar
* Minimum of Level 2, GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in maths and English
* Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths
* Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
