SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools

We’re looking for a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to support students who need a bit of extra guidance, patience, and encouragement to thrive in the classroom.
You’ll be working with pupils who may have additional learning needs, autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them stay engaged, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with teenagers and understands that every small breakthrough counts.
What the role involves
* Supporting students one-to-one or in small groups in a secondary classroom
* Helping pupils stay focused, organised, and confident with their learning
* Working alongside teachers to adapt tasks and support lesson delivery
* Encouraging positive behaviour and building strong, trusting relationships
* Supporting students both academically and emotionally
We’re looking for someone who
* Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND
* Is calm, patient, and confident supporting challenging behaviours
* Can build rapport with secondary-aged students
* Has experience in education, youth work, care, mentoring, or support roles
* Is reliable, proactive, and enjoys being part of a team
* Holds an Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
