With a strong reputation for shaping thought leadership and influencing international policy, the organisation is currently undergoing a strategic transformation to modernise systems, streamline operations, and enhance financial planning and oversight.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for experienced finance professionals to contribute to a purpose-led organisation operating at the heart of global affairs. In this role, you will work closely with a research centre, collaborating with academic and policy teams while partnering with central finance to ensure robust financial management across key projects and funding streams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting for your assigned research centre\n\nCost projects and monitor profitability across grants, donations, and other funding sources\n\nTrack actual income and expenditure against budgets; analyse and explain variances\n\nCollaborate with the central finance team on management accounts, accruals, and income recognition\n\nOversee project-specific financial reporting, audits, and compliance with funder requirements\n\nSupport implementation of a new finance system and contribute to process improvements\n\nAct as a trusted financial advisor to research leads and senior stakeholders\n\nStrengthen internal controls and promote financial best practice across the organisation\n\nAbout You\n\nACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant\n\nProven experience in business partnering, budgeting, and financial project oversight\n\nExperience within the charity, education, or non-profit sector (advantageous)\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly to non-finance colleagues\n\nStrong analytical and organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and deadlines\n\nProactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment\n\nFamiliarity with funder requirements across foundations, government bodies, and NGOs\n\nBenefits\n\n37 days annual leave (including public holidays and office closure days)\n\nPension salary exchange scheme\n\nHybrid/flexible working\n\nEnhanced parental leave and employee assistance programme\n\nOpportunity to work in a highly respected, purpose-driven environment with global impact\n\nApply now to be part of an organisation committed to making a meaningful contribution to international policy and global development through strong financial leadership.\n\nIn our company values we aim for equity at all stages of the recruitment process, please let us know if we can do anything to make the process more accessible to you
