Our Central Telemetry team has a fantastic opportunity for a Central Telemetry Engineer to join them in Salford or Preston. Our role The transition from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to a Distribution System Operator (DSO) is being driven by the implementation of a Smart Grid. This modernised network features significantly enhanced monitoring and control capabilities across all voltage levels, far surpassing traditional systems. By enabling real-time management of energy flows and system constraints, the Smart Grid allows assets to operate closer to their maximum capacity and supports both local and centralised automatic corrective actions when required. As a central-based Telemetry Engineer, you will play a vital role in enabling this transformation. Your primary responsibilities will include the configuration and support of Schneider Electric s Grid Automation and SCADA software, specifically the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). In addition, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and other intelligent electronic devices. These devices are essential components of the SCADA/Control System used by Electricity North West to monitor and control the entire electricity network What we re looking for HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic engineering; Experienced in Electrical or Electronic engineering, fault finding, repair and maintenance; Apprenticeship in Electrical or electronic engineering.
