Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison. The site has both a pharmacy and dispenser with a strong, integrated team, and due to growth we are looking for more Technicians. The role offers learning, development and career progression opportunities including ACPT training, with overtime paid at the bank rate.
The role includes an opportunity for applicants to visit the department for a look around and a cup of tea.
Hours
37.5 hours over 4 days, on a 2-weekly fixed rota. It includes 1 weekend in 2.
Monday–Thursday 07:30–17:00 / Friday–Sunday 08:00–17:00
Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £34,658 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Be a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group and be an integral member of the pharmacy team and the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.
* Provide outstanding quality, patient-centred care by listening to and acting on patient feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Maintain safe and secure medicines management services, ensure patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard, and follow standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non-judgmental care within the scope of professional standards, from timely administration of medicines to contributing to cost-effective prescribing, as defined by our health in justice medicines policy.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, partners and stakeholders, and provide a service that is trusted, safe, and something to be proud of.

Qualifications required
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
* General GCSE education or equivalent
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
