HAYS are delighted to be working exclusively with Sandwell Council to recruit an Educational Health Care Plan Officer on an interim basis to join their expanding team. Sandwell Council are committed to providing exceptional support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and the team collaborates with schools, colleges, health services, and other agencies to ensure timely and effective support. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, facilitate, and support the delivery of statutory SEND functions in line with the Children & Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015. You will lead and coordinate Education Health and Care assessment, review, and planning processes for children and young people aged 0-25.
This role is paying between £30-£40 per hour and hybrid working is available. The working hours for this role will be 37 hours per week, but some unsociable hours may also be required.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
1. Manage a caseload across all areas of statutory SEN and complete associated tasks.
2. Act as a named keyworker for parents, young people, and professionals.
3. Use person-centred approaches to engage with parents, carers, children, and young people.
4. Draft high-quality Education Health and Care (EHC) plans adhering to statutory requirements.
