Job Description
RLE International is seeking a BIW Structural Engineer for an exciting new project in Oxfordshire, on a 6-month contract.
Rate:
£34 per hour (Outside IR35)
Responsibilities:
* DFMEA activities including:
o System DFMEA based on CO content from Beta designs
o Component DFMEA with DV activities
o Control cascades to process and quality
o Review of prevention and control measures in quality database
o Rescore DFMEA and develop action plans for high AP scores
* Components delivery end-to-end ownership:
o Design and requirement validation
o DFM / DFA activities with suppliers or internal stakeholders
o Component assembly
o Servicing and repairs strategy for aftermarket
o Issue ownership during build or test
o Change management and reporting
o Component integration and interface control
o Cost, mass, and timing aligned with targets
o Engineering sign-off documentation
o Drawing checks for SC / CC application and change recommendations
* DV activities support:
o Support DV team with scope of work and test requirements
o Assist with test specification and sourcing
o Interpret and report test results
o Archive test cases and link to DFMEA updates
o Support DV tests at test houses
o Report status against targets
* Build support during Beta maturation:
o Component MRD and inspection
o Pre-fitment and sign-off to proceed to build
o Issue logging and resolution
o Status reporting
Requirements:
* Strong technical knowledge of structural components in power systems
* Experience with end-to-end component ownership
* Proficiency with Teamcenter, Jira, MS Office, SharePoint, Polarion
* Experience in conducting product DFMEA activities
* Strong systems engineering methodology skills
* Ability to work autonomously and report effectively
Additional Information:
* Location: Oxfordshire, with minimum 3 days/week onsite within 1 hour commute
* Occasional travel and support at test houses, travel costs covered
