Job Purpose
The Senior Product Manager is a subject matter expert (SME) for the usage of Historian software and integration capabilities across GSK’s global manufacturing sites. The role provides technical and problem‑solving expertise as well as strategic direction and lifecycle management for key digital products. You will develop and manage the roadmap for Historian systems, ensuring data collection, storage, accessibility, and integration with other platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and evolve product strategy in alignment with business aims and customer outcomes.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to root‑cause analysis in AspenTech InfoPlus.21 suite (IP.21) and Aspentech Inmation.
* Collaborate with central tech functions to ensure data integration to cloud‑based platforms.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver high‑impact solutions, establishing success metrics for product adoption and support effectiveness.
* Oversee backlog management to ensure items are well‑defined, estimated, and aligned with roadmap goals.
* Address IT risks such as Business Continuity Planning, IT security, and confidential data management.
* Manage engagement with strategic partners and vendors, including contract addendums and delivery oversight.
* Contribute to future expansion initiatives (e.g., Manufacturing Data Management and Factory Integration).
Location
Ideally you will be based at one of GSK manufacturing sites in the UK, Europe or the USA (e.g., Upper Merion (USA), Ware (UK), Poznan (Poland), Evreux (France), Aranda (Spain), etc). We can also consider applicants who can work from any of our sites in India. Hybrid‑working can be discussed during the interview process.
About You
This role is a great opportunity to develop and deliver subject‑matter expertise across GSK. You must be a motivated person with strong experience in complex technical situations, a self‑starter with a clear problem‑solving approach, and the ability to influence people to achieve performance. A continuous‑improvement mindset and hands‑on approach are required.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a relevant technical subject.
* Experience/knowledge of managing Historian systems (or similar data platforms).
* Understanding of data governance and compliance (ideally from a highly‑regulated environment).
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge or experience of GMP is highly advantageous.
