Overview
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity is committed to providing exceptional experiences for everyone who chooses to support its work, and the Charity Administrator plays a vital role in making this happen. As the first point of contact for donors and fundraisers, the postholder ensures every supporter feels valued and connected to the impact of their contribution, while keeping the charity's operations running smoothly through efficient enquiry handling, donation processing and accurate record keeping. The role centres on delivering excellent supporter stewardship and ensuring smooth, efficient office processes. This includes acting as the first point of contact for all charity enquiries, providing warm and proactive supporter care through calls, emails and written communication, and meeting supporters on site to encourage engagement and fundraising activity. You will manage and maintain the supporter database, produce reports, process donations across multiple channels, oversee thanking processes, support colleagues handling direct donations, and manage collection tins, buckets and third party fundraising platforms. The role also involves accurate financial data entry, managing the charity inbox and providing wider administrative support, including preparing data for appeals and communications.
Alongside day to day operations, you will contribute to key strategic projects by supporting campaigns, appeals and programme delivery, ensuring supporters receive timely and engaging updates. You will help develop dashboards to monitor progress against strategic objectives, build strong relationships across the Trust and with external partners, and identify opportunities to enhance supporter engagement. A commitment to personal development, staying informed about sector trends and bringing forward new ideas is also expected, helping to strengthen the charity's operations and overall supporter experience.
The role blends administration, supporter care, data management and project support, requiring someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident working at pace, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellent service, the Charity Administrator helps strengthen supporter engagement and contributes to the charity's continued growth and impact across Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals.
Joining Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals' Charity means becoming part of a warm, ambitious, values driven team dedicated to making a real difference every day. As the official charity of Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital, we help our Trust go above and beyond by funding projects, environments and equipment that the NHS alone cannot provide. Each year we invest significant funds into initiatives that improve patient care--from innovative medical technology and enhanced clinical spaces to wellbeing support and development opportunities for our amazing staff. Every pound we raise helps improve the health and wellbeing of our local communities.
As part of our Charity team, you'll help bring our mission to life: empowering exceptional care, uplifting environments, and valuing staff across all DBTH sites. Our strategy puts people first--supporting staff wellbeing, promoting continuous learning, and celebrating achievements so colleagues feel recognised and encouraged. You will play a key role in building community partnerships, championing innovation, and amplifying patient and staff voices as we work to reduce health inequalities and create modern, compassionate hospital spaces. Here, your work has clear purpose, visible impact, and the power to change lives.
