An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and suitably experienced nurse to develop their skills, knowledge, and management experience. You will work alongside nurses and medical staff to enhance the patient experience within the Hospital Out of Hours (HOOH) service. The benefits include improved medical provision for patients within the Admission Units, Medical and Surgical directorates, offering a more consistent approach to service provision.
Applicants should be able to work on both the Northern General Hospital and Royal Hallamshire Hospital/Weston Park Hospital sites.
The role includes nights, twilight shifts, weekend day shifts, and bank holidays.
The nurse coordinator will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, which includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Doctors in Training, Medical Consultants, and traditional healthcare roles.
The nurse coordinator will work within a defined scope of practice and adhere to standards set within the local setting.
This multifaceted role aims to improve the quality of and access to healthcare provision and to strengthen professional leadership.
The post holder will be responsible to the Matron of the HOOH team. They will utilize their skills in triage, assessment, prioritization, and allocation of patient tasks in the acute setting.

The HOOH team comprises ACPs, Support Workers, and Coordinators who support the medical team outside normal hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
