Graduate Java Developer – Spring Boot, REST API, Cloud

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and eager Graduate Java Developer to join our Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with up to 2 years of experience (including internships or academic projects) to gain hands-on exposure to enterprise-level development, modern APIs, and cloud-native technologies. Our platform consists of multiple distributed services which process millions of requests per hour. You will work closely with experienced developers on projects that involve transitioning legacy systems to modern microservices using Spring Boot and AWS.
Key Responsibilities
API Development Support
1. Assist in building and testing REST APIs using Spring Boot
2. Support integration of new REST services with existing SOAP-based systems
3. Collaborate on API design using tools like Swagger Hub
Cloud & Microservices Exposure
4. Gain hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS
5. Participate in the deployment and monitoring of microservices on AWS
6. Learn about Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Testing & Code Quality
7. Write basic unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito
8. Work with senior developers to debug and improve system reliability
9. Contribute to code reviews and continuous integration pipelines
Team Collaboration & Learning
10. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies
11. Pair with mentors to grow technical and problem-solving skills
12. Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new tools and technologies
Required Skills & Qualifications
13. 0–2 years of Java development experience (including academic or internship projects)
14. Basic understanding of Spring Boot and RESTful API development
15. Familiarity with JSON and basic HTTP concepts
16. Willingness to learn about SOAP-to-REST migrations and microservices
17. Exposure to or interest in cloud platforms such as AWS
18. Experience with Git and basic CI/CD practices
19. Foundational knowledge of unit testing with JUnit or similar tools
20. Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a team environment
21. Completed a BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred Skills
22. Familiarity with Swagger, Postman, or similar API tools
23. Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS during coursework or projects
24. Interest in DevOps, monitoring, or cloud infrastructure
25. Understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT)
