Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Pharmacy Technician with excellent problem solving skills who is self‑motivated and organised to work as part of the team at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH). The role will involve providing a clinical pharmacy and medication administration service to the acute respiratory unit at CRH, including administering medication to all patients in this ward and supporting the discharge process and medication flow. This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills, develop patient‑focused care and contribute to the optimisation of pharmacy services.
Main Duties
The Pharmacy Technician will administer medicines, perform medicines reconciliation, and undertake controlled drug audits. You will provide counselling to patients, train and mentor colleagues, and support ward‑based duties under the direction of the hospital pharmacy team. The position requires working independently and as part of a small team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
• Provide medication administration and support discharge processes on the acute respiratory ward.

Qualifications & Training
* English and Maths GCSE grade 9‑4 (A*‑C) or equivalent, or high level of literacy and numeracy.
* BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent recognition by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Accredited Checking Technician.
* Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development relevant to the role.
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience of high‑level technical duties in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
* Knowledge of dispensing standards and legislation relating to hospital pharmacy.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
* Enjoy working independently and within a team.
* Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and supervision skills.
* Calm and professional under pressure, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
